This clear medium concentration oxygen mask comes complete with 2.1m tubing.

This adult size oxygen mask and tubing set is simple to attach to our range of medical oxygen cylinders (tank/bottle/canister) via the oxygen tubing which features universal rubber end fittings which simply push fit onto our oxygen cylinder regulator outlets.

We also supply this adult oxygen mask and tubing set in a box quantity of 20 sets.

In line with The British Thoracic Society guideline ‘BTS Guideline for Oxygen Use in Adults in Healthcare and Emergency Settings’, this simple / medium concentration mask is suitable for use with oxygen flow rate settings >5 litres per minute.

Take a look at our nasal cannula if you require an oxygen flow rate lower than 5LPM.

Take a look at our high concentration reservoir mask (non-rebreathing mask) if you require a high oxygen flow rate of 15 LPM.

The British Thoracic Society guideline ‘BTS Guideline for Oxygen Use in Adults in Healthcare and Emergency Settings’ states:

“This type of mask delivers oxygen concentrations between 40% and 60%.

The oxygen supplied to the patient will be of variable concentration depending on the flow of oxygen and the patient’s breathing pattern.

The concentration can be changed by increasing or decreasing the oxygen flows between 5 – 10 LPM.

Flows of <5 LPM can cause increased resistance to breathing, and there is a possibility of a build-up of carbon dioxide within the mask and rebreathing may occur. This mask is suitable for patients with respiratory failure without hypercapnia (type 1 respiratory failure) but is not suitable for patients with hypercapnic (type 2) respiratory failure. The mask may deliver a high concentration of oxygen (>50%) and is therefore not recommended for patients who require low concentration oxygen therapy because of the risk of carbon dioxide retention.

Patients using a simple face mask may have an inspiratory flow rate greater than the gas flow rate from the mask, so the simple face mask should not be used at flow rates below 5 L/min.”
